Who We Are

Founded in 1944, Abingdon Drama Club (ADC) is a registered charity with a proud history of bringing high-quality theatre to the local community. For over 80 years, we have been creating memorable productions, fostering creativity, and providing opportunities for people of all ages to experience the joy of theatre.

We stage a diverse programme of productions throughout the year, ranging from classic plays and contemporary dramas to comedies and experimental works. Alongside our adult productions, we also run a thriving youth theatre programme for young people aged 12–16, helping to develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

At ADC, everyone is welcome. Whether you're an experienced performer, a complete beginner, or simply curious about getting involved, there's a place for you in our community. You don't need to be a member to attend play readings or audition for productions, and there are countless ways to participate beyond acting.

The success of every production relies on the dedication and talent of our volunteers. From directing, stage management, and set construction to lighting, sound, costumes, props, and front-of-house, our members work together to bring stories to life both on and off the stage.

More than just a theatre group, Abingdon Drama Club is a welcoming and supportive community united by a shared passion for storytelling, creativity, and live performance. Whether you're looking to take centre stage, learn new skills behind the scenes, or make new friends through a shared love of theatre, we'd love to welcome you.
