Meet Kerri – ADC Youth Theatre Leader
Hello, my name is Kerri, and I am delighted to be Abingdon Drama Club’s Youth Theatre Leader.
With many years of experience in performance and teaching performing arts across a variety of local schools and settings, I am passionate about helping young people develop confidence, creativity, and a love of theatre. I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant supporting children with SEND and have completed training in autism, ADHD, and Tourette’s syndrome.
My aim is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels welcome, valued, and able to thrive.
Our Approach
Drama is about much more than performing on stage. Throughout the term, children will have opportunities to:
Express themselves creatively
Build confidence and communication skills
Develop acting and performance techniques
Explore different aspects of theatre and stagecraft
We will also introduce children to the many roles involved in creating theatre, including:
Stage management
Set design
Costume
Backstage and technical roles
This ensures there is something for everyone, whether they love being in the spotlight or prefer working behind the scenes.
Class Information
Sessions take place on Sundays from 10.00am – 12.00pm.
Summer Term Dates
7th June – 19th July
The first session will be a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity for everyone to get to know one another through games, activities, and creative exercises.
Any future changes to dates or schedules will be communicated to parents in advance.
During the summer term, we will focus on developing core drama and theatre skills through engaging workshops, games, and creative projects.
At the end of the term, families will be invited to a short showcase demonstrating what the children have been working on. This may include:

A variety of theatre styles explored throughout the term
